INSPIRATION ...


Here's some great inspiration girls! My sister-in-law sent me this picture from when she and her husband Sean visited China last spring. I think this photo gives a terrific feel for how awesome the Great Wall really is. It also makes me quite relieved that this is just a virtual walk along the length of this amazing landmark! (just looking at all of those stairs makes my knees ache!)

I'm sorry I haven't added any mileage since last week. I've had a terrible head cold and have been feeling very unmotivated to work out. Hopefully Thursday I'll get back at it.

I've got another 3 km today too! I'm glad you like the ticker, I thought we should have something to motivate us to keep moving.
Here's 3 more km for the total. I like the ticker-turtle ... very appropriate for the pace at which we seem to be crawling along the wall!

Today I got back on to my eliptical trainer for 20 minutes, I managed to go 2,000 strides which is equal to one km. Slowly but surely, we'll get there :) Can I tell you how sore my legs were after just 20 minutes??? I hope it gets easier soon.

O.k. girls count me in. Which way to Beijing though????

I guess I'm going to need one of thoes pedometer thingies. I have no idea how many steps I take in a day or while I'm going for my "stress relieving" walks.

I'm really looking forward to getting into better shape (any shape really, other than round) and dropping some weight. I believe this is my year for a lot of things but most importantly my health.

So here's to us girls and lets walk, walk, walk.

Thanks for the invite Dolores! I'd like to get back into shape and lose a few pounds. I think it will definitely help my motivation to have a fun target and some one else to share the goal with. My mileage so far is actually just an estimate because I'm doing aerobics. On top of that I don't have a pedometer yet, so this is a guestimate based on someone else's aerobics "mileage". I promise I will get a pedometer soon and will hopefully have a better idea of what distance I'm really doing.
To date: 8 km (only 6344 km to go!)
