Ladies, I think we've reached a milestone, over 100 km! Good job. After feeling a bit out of it for a few days, I have completed four more km.
Thanks, Tracey! And that will be another 3 for me!
5 more km's for me. Go Norma!

Another 3 kms for me.

3 kms for me!
Put me down for 10 more km (5 today & 5 last Thursday). Sounds like you guys are doing great!

Another 3 kms for me! Fruit and veggie servings, according to the Canada Food Guide, are often not as large as one usually thinks of a serving. You might be getting more servings than you thought.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

Another 4 km for me, two yesterday and two today. That's a lot of fruits and veggies but I'll see about giving it a try too.

3 more for me! As I mentioned before, I have another challenge going on - the In Motion challenge. The current challenge includes eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day and 30 minutes of physical activity per day/5 days a week. Since the "not-so-cold-weather-therefore-less-outerwear" I have been walking about 3 kms in 30 minutes (not everyday, though). I have been doing pretty well with the fruits and veggies, too, so I think that has a lot to do with the fact that the scale is saying good things! :)

Four km for me, two yesterday and two today. Is anybody seeing a difference? For me I know it's still going to be about 3 more weeks beofre the scale and I start to become friends.

Another two for me. We're getting there ladies!

Thursday, February 15, 2007

3 kms for me - it is now a balmy -5!

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Another 2 kms for me - some of it done on a treadmill in a warm room - not my house, though - I wish! I used to work in northern Saskatchewan (75 kms from the NWT) and I started walking to work - about a mile - for the exercise and weight loss. I got a Dene (Indian) woman to make me a pair of mitts, long - almost to my elbow, from moose hide with beaver fur trim and beading - now those are warm. Together with ski pants, Sorels, ear muffs, toque and of course a warm jacket, I managed to stay warm even at -40! I don't think I would go out when it is that cold now! I have another fitness challenge going on now - from work - so that is the extra incentive to get moving! 2 birds with 1 stone!!
Brrrrr! You're a brave woman Norma!
Put me down for another 5 km (done in the wimpy warmth of our cozy familyroom!)

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

4 kms for me! It's getting warmer - or should I say not so cold. It is *only* -19 instead of -30!

Monday, February 12, 2007

Two more today. I'm getting there!

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Woo hoo, another two km!

Saturday, February 10, 2007

Another two for me. I'm trying to go on the trainer 6 days a week with Friday being my day off. I can usually get that much if I go on for half an hour. I'm having fun doing this, thanks ladies for doing this together.
Go Dolores!
Holy cow, you're adding up the mileage! You can put me down for another 6 km (5 for aerobics & 1 for the walk in/out to the tobogan hill and all the trips hauling the sleds & Papaya back to the top!)

Friday, February 09, 2007

2 kms for me. Hopefully the weather warms up a little soon so I don't need to wear quite so many clothes when I walk - maybe I can cover more distance. Yeah, I know - it's just an excuse!

Thursday, February 08, 2007

And another 2 for me. Trying to get onto the trainer everyday. Trying being the opertive word.

Wednesday, February 07, 2007

Another two km for me. I'm tired, my legs are ready to drop off.

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

You guys are good. I went 1 km today on the elptical trainer. I really have to get my act together. I don't know a lot about pedometers either. the trainer I use tell's me how many strides I take.
Put me down for another 10 km (5 for today & 5 for last Thursday). And no, I'm not out walking in the snow storm - I've been doing aerobics in the familyroom with Kathy Smith!
Sorry Norma, I know nothing about pedometers. I've been meaning to get one myself since I'm basing my "mileage" on someone else's aerobics/mileage estimate.

Monday, February 05, 2007

Okay, put me down for 5 kms. This is an estimate. I bought a pedometer but I don't seem to have luck with them. According to this one, I walked 22 kms in a 1/2 hour! I don't think so! Has anyone had better luck with them - what am I doing wrong?

Update: Feb. 8/07 - I think I have figured out the problem - it is actually my math!!
